Happy New Year! I'm entering into my 7th year of blogging here. Crazy. This blog has provided me a lot of business and has been a really great creative outlet. Thanks for coming back and reading every day! I thought I would do a recap of my year in business (as documented through the blog).
In January of 2014, I painted our kitchen cabinets.

I loved this project. I still want to add trim around the edges to create a Shaker style, but I'm not sure Jordan's on board, so for now I continue to enjoy the white cabinets.
In January I also did the band cover art drawings for a doctor's office down in Tampa. It was a really cool project, if I do say so myself.

In February, I painted my bedroom peach! Weird color, but I loved it.

it was "peach cooler" by Benjamin Moore.
In March, I turned regular ol' panel curtains from World Market into pinch pleat curtains. It was my first time teaching myself this trick, and I was really proud.

(now I'm thinking I should hang these again for the Winter!)
I also ended up making some for our kitchen:

In April, I transformed a dark playroom into a Dr. Seuss inspired bold bright space for the kids to reclaim:

I also ended up doing a bunch of work in our backyard with Jordan in April. I wish it still looked like this!!

it looks terrible again, with all the rain and cold weather. I will be excited to attack it again this spring.
I did a fun mural in May for the Kredible offices, here in Atlanta.

In June, I decided to draw on our powder bathroom walls. I drew pineapples in gold with peach and cream highlights.

In July, I turned two $10 Target end tables turned into a leather bench!

In September, I did some fun transformations to my studio:

in October, I finally bought a new rug and coffee table for the living room. I love them!

and in October I took on painting this star and dot stenciled ceiling:

My eyes cross just thinking about it ;)
In November, I did the BLACK + DECKER Big Finish. I will post pics from the final results from it tomorrow. I am SO happy with how that bathroom turned out.
In December, I painted three big murals at an apartment complex here in Atlanta. I will be sharing pics of them soon, I promise!
Anyway, it's been a good year, and I look forward to doing so much more in 2015, including more design work. I was actually asked to help out with season 4 of Elbow Room on HGTV, so I am joining their team as a designer starting soon. I will STILL BE TAKING ON PAINTING/DESIGN PROJECTS, and doing my current gig as well. It'll be fun, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of something new that I haven't done before. If you remember, I was on the show painting a mural in January of 2013, and that's when I met everyone there.
What about you guys? How was your year? Looking forward to a new slate in 2015?
Happy new year to you all. Now I'm off to take pictures of my guest bathroom before I head out to paint, so I can show you guys my counter top tomorrow!
Wow congrats on the show. That is wonderful news. I guess I missed the post about you being on before, I will have to go check it out. That Dr. Suess room is amazing. Your so creative, you deserve all the opportunities that come your way. Happy New Year to you. Alison

ReplyDeleteYou're killin' it. Your house looks fantastic. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see your transformations, hard to pic my favorite, but I particularly loved your hand drawn pineapples - clever!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to Elbow Room=)
The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought you have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention. Football Player Tips Casino Online Asia Vocation
