Design Work

I have been hired to do some design work by the builder of our house. He is building more homes, and basically putting together packages for his clients to choose from. He asked me to put together some packages, and I wanted to share them with you guys. I'm not going to list all of the products - I feel like I should keep it to myself, since I am being paid to do it.

Anyway, it was fun and overwhelming to come up with fixtures and finishes for an entire (not real) house.

I wanted to be consistent with the product styles that I have picked out for this particular client in the past, while also coming up with new looks. Kind of contradicts itself in its own right, but it was a challenge I made for myself. I also pulled some newer pieces that I had never used (or seen used) before. Now, I think I want to move into one of these houses ;)

Here is a master bathroom mood board.

This is for the guest bathroom. I love that black penny tile! I would pair it with gray grout. Contrast but not too much contrast.

Kitchen mood board. Some of these things are in my own house, and some I've never seen used before. Some, we used in the other house that I picked out finishes for. I love the combo of mixing metals with brass and polished nickel.

Thanks for all the couch feedback yesterday. I am encouraged to go to west elm today and talk to them about it now. Something I really wasn't even planning on doing. But when it comes down to it, it does suck to spend that much money on a sofa, and have to replace it within a year.

  1. Love your boards. That's a very smart builder to bring you on board. :)

  2. Wow congrats on the design work. I know you enjoy it. Your studio is lookin good with your pictures up! That is way over due. Sorry about your troubles with the couch, glad to hear you went and are getting some help from WE. Alison
