This post is more of a "halfway done" post, I feel like, but I thought I'd share it anyway, since my part of the job is done.
A client of mine bought a little condo, and is in the middle of completely redecorating and remodeling the entire thing! It was fun to see the transformations they're making, and be in the midst of everything. I didn't get a real "before" shot, because they did a bit of carpentry work before I got there, but the photos are pretty self-explantory, as far as what they changed:
The kitchen is a galley kitchen, and the cabinets were old 80's oak cabinets. They removed the built in desk, and had a carpenter replace that section with added cabinet doors and stalls for storage. You can see this where you see the white doors. They also added molding to the existing cabinetry, and decorative trim. The hinges and pulls were also replaced.

I also painted a bench that will be built in, to the left where the window is below:
I did some light distressing (where the wood shows underneath), but not too much, since there were some new sections where the cabinetry wasn't wood underneath. It's subtle, but I liked the way it came out.
These cabinets are going to be amazeballs! Like everything else that you do!

Fantastic, as usual :-)! I am really curious about how you would finish this to give it longevity. I am dying to paint my kitchen cabinets, but am a bit worried the paint will chip, and or be hard to clean.

ReplyDeleteLooove the transformation! You’ve painted your cabinets with a lighter color. It looks awesome and better than its old color. I can already feel the place lightening up. I’m sure it’ll be a fun place to cook and do errands every day. I can’t wait to see the final results. Hoping to see it when it’s finally done!

Even though you’re not totally done remodeling your client’s kitchen, judging from the cabinets, I must say, you’ve done a great job, Kristen! It is important that countertops and cabinets go well together to create a pleasant, long-lasting impression in the kitchen. This remodeling is, so far, one of the best I’ve ever seen!

And I bet this kitchen makeover is one of your best works. I just love how you were able to create a warm and toasty aura in that kitchen by using shades of light brown and wood materials. It just feels so homey and comforting, like the typical kitchen you would find in a farm house.
