Last night was the Borgias Unveiled event that I told you guys about, and it was great! I was so honored to be asked to help out Heather Hogan Roberts with this, and she did such a beautiful job creating her window display for the competition! I'll have more information about the contest soon, but if you'd like to check it out and vote for Atlanta, go here. Basically ten top designers were chosen from ten cities for the competition. Those who vote for their favorite window will be entered to win a grand prize trip to Venice including round-trip airfare, five nights at the Westin Europa & Regina, winery tour and $5,000 gift card to V&M.
We had a great time sipping on Italian wine and food, and taking in Heather's gorgeous work (not to mention the beautiful store where everything is taking place - Suite Spot). I've got some photos if you'd like to see!
I painted the backdrops for the two "rooms". I had to paint on top of 2' by 8' panels in my studio, then I tacked them up onto these set walls. They were 2 by 8 so that they could travel in my car :) The guys at Lowe's were very confused about what this chick was doing with these panels, but I made it happen!
Anyway, this room is the "mans" room, and the background was taken from these scene from the show:
That star pattern is KILLER and Heather wanted me to replicate it for this room. I had a crazy time figuring out how to get that star pattern to intertwine (I made a stencil that I will have to show you guys sometime), but I finally figured it out, and was quite happy when I did.
Here i am on the install day.
Here are the rooms! All photos were taken by the talented Sarah Hanna.
here I am last night, standing in front of my creation!
(with Jordan and laser eyes)
and, here is the girl's room:
I painted the Damask backdrop here - it's very faint and pearly, so a little hard to see.
isn't the bedding awesome?

These are SO awesome. I like the girl's room best, but both are really cool.
