One of my clients text messaged me over the weekend, to ask some advice on painting a frame that she bought from a thrift store. She said she didn't like the colors of the frame in its current state, but it was a great deal that she didn't want to pass up. I told her what I thought she should do (spray prime it, then use spraypaint, since it's metal), and she did it, and sent me pics. I wanted to share here, because I thought they turned out so cute!

aren't they cute? I love that the little patterns on the metal are now reading chicer than before, and the bubble-y shapes of the frames look perfect with the bright colors. Great job, Nakia! :)

ReplyDeleteThe texture comes out way better without the glossy shine. I love these! There is such a drastic difference! This just goes to show that I need think more creatively when looking at the 'ugly' stuff at the thrift store.

ReplyDeleteI know, I had the same thought! when she texted me the "before", i thought she'd do it in adult colors, but I loved her choices...so cute and unexpected!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! And I love that she didn't paint the 2 frames the same way! (ie. lower left on one is pink and lower right on the second is purple.)
