A couple of weeks ago, I painted this simple wavy pattern on living room walls. It mimics the pattern in the lamp that they have, and creates a subtle design.
I did the pattern in a high-gloss version of the wall color.
anon- no! I got crazy, and painted over it. haha..it's white again. It just felt too heavy in the space, and I kind of wanted everything to stay neutral for my artwork to look better! :)
I love these walls so much! I would love to do something like that in my house I just don't know that I have the patience to pull it off that and my fear of messing up! That wall is gorgeous!
Forgive me if you have already done this, but perhaps a good post would be how to make a template. What material do you use? What tools do you use to cut it? How do you stop paint from bleeding under it, etc.
it probably would be, but I do weird things that are hard to explain! haha...I've gotten into the habits of how i do things, and i've found it is hard to describe to people. a video would probably work, but i dont have anyone to film :)
I always love your stenciled walls, Kristen - they are amazing. I really want to try my hand out at my own house - do you just use a high gloss version of the wall colour? Or is it a different colour all together? Hard to tell in the photos - but whatever it is, it works!
Wow! Amazing painting I like this so much there is no more word for this. Really so amazing.Wow! So amazing home I like it so much. It’s looking natural. I like to have my own home just like this. There is no bar of neutrality.
Did you ever finish the wall in your studio? I can hardly wait to see the final product!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the simple but elegant design!
