Another Fixer Upper

Last week, I did a little work on 2 little trunks that had seen better days. The quality was nice, as was the shape, but wooden stain was dull, and there were lots of nicks and scratches. I came in and just fixed them up (there were 2, but I'm only showing one here).

here is what they looked like before:

see the edges?

Here is what they looked like when I was finished:

  1. I have been lurking on your blog for months and months, but these trunks have driven me out of hiding. How did you finish them? I have the exact same trunk, and the top is in horrible shape. I'd love to fix it. Is that stain or paint? How much did you sand? Aargh! Please help. :)

  2. The trunk looks amazing. Did you stain or paint? My husband is working on refinishing a Lane Hope Chest for me, that looks similar.
