chair makeover!

i had a really fun project recently, and i can't wait to share some of the before & after pics with you guys. for starters, here's (i think?) my favorite makeover out of the bunch. my client bought this old wooden office chair off of craigslist, and wanted me to paint it a saffron color to match the pillows in her guest bedroom/office.

i wanted to tie in something a bit more artistic to the look, so i came up with the idea to paint a design onto the seat of the chair so that if she ever gets tired of the print, she can simply cover it up with a pillow. i painted these sweet birds to mimic the dwell studio pillow on the bed, sitting opposite the chair! i really love the way it all came out.

  2. Kristen! This is beautiful! You took a hideous chair that looked like it belonged to a law office in 1970 and transformed it into a lovely accent piece! If you hadn't done it for someone, I'd want to buy it! Now that I think about it, my dad has several chairs like that in his office... i'm gonna see about swiping them. Amazing makeover!
