More Manly Tasks

Well, our new couch FINALLY came in. Don't order things from J.C. Penney...for some reason they didn't complete my order when I ordered my sofa mid-November (though I did have a confirmation number??), so it took forever for me to actually get my sofa, and you should have heard the train wreck of a woman I talked to on the phone about the situation. Seriously, I think she was trying to give me psychic readings over the phone. She would ask me a personal questions (like, "do you have kids?", "are you newly married?", questions about what I looked like, etc) during the conversation we had, where I was simply trying to figure out the status of my order...then, I called back to talk to another representative (because I was nervous that something weird happened with the previous lady...), and she was just rude. It wasn't really a good experience.

But, I'm pretty happy with my new sofa. I mean, it's really plain, but it's nice to have something fluffier to sit on, and something that actually comes up to my neck, rather than mid-back (NOT comfortable, Ikea.) I still need to finish fixing the slipcovers ...straighten them out a bit, and zip up the back, which will require a bit of Jordan's help.

HOWEVER, I managed to move the old couch out of the room and assemble the new one all by myself. Never underestimate my strength with furniture when I am determined (to his defense, Jordan was out coaching :) ).

our family room is looking a little cluttered these days, I need to do some cleaning out...but at least it's cozy...that's what I have to tell myself :)

  1. Your couch looks comfy! I'm glad to see your family room in the day time. I was wondering with the color of the walls if it made the room too dark. Is that the only window in the room?

  2. Well, the photos never do the color justice...It's actually not that dark...there are two windows ..another on the right side of the room. I have the white curtains to try and deflect the light a bit!!

  3. Couch looks great - I've ordered a couple of things from JCP and have never had a problem - sorry.

  4. laurel- i probably shouldn't have said that i'd never order from them...i just had such an awkward experience with their telephone people! it was so strange...haha. anyway, i am pleased with the makes my reading of those enticing twilight books much cozier :)

ashley- thank you, my lady. you need to send me some pics!!
